An exceptional Royal Canadian Air Force Women’s Division grouping belonging to a June Mahood (W307823). The grouping includes; June’s 1943 dated service cap which features her original R.C.A.F. cap badge that shows considerable ghosting. A 1942 dated Service Garmet Co. Service Dress tunic which regrettably had all of its insignia stripped. Two separate dresses, one of which is named to June and dated to May of 1945. Also included is a custom tailored short-sleeve blazer and privately purchased leather and canvas messenger bag which is regrettably missing a single buckle.
Included in the photos is an article regarding June that was featured in a special edition of “Bruce Remembers” from the mid 90’s. The interview briefly covers June’s service which spanned from August of 1942 to VJ Day in 1945. After two brief postings in Canada, June applied for overseas service and in November of 1942 she was posted to Headquarters 6 Bomber Group in Yorkshire, England. June would remain there for the duration of the European Theatre of World War Two.
