Multi-piece supple leather construction accented with rivets and fittings. The holster features an open top, fully functioning single securing strap. To the reverse, one thick leather strap which fastens to a belt. Stamped on the interior, both the maker mark “Kuhlewein & Co of Erfurt” and the date “1917”. A captured holster, it features the service number “126495” written in pencil. The service number belonged to a John McDonald of Woodstock, Ontario who served in the Forestry Corps in France. Despite some separation on the flap, the holster remains in excellent shape, retaining it’s original shoulder strap.
