Constructed of dyed cotton bunting, this one sided flag measures approximately 72cm by 40cm. The Red Ensign proudly features the Union Jack to its Canton and the 1870’s to 1905 Canadian Coat of Arms on the Fly. Surrounding the 5 provincial crest is a wreath laurel and beaver. Research of this flag has proven difficult. Sources suggest its use as a homecoming flag for North-West Rebellion soldiers, while the Canadian War Museum identifies these flags as being carried by First World War soldiers. Sources have been provided in the above tab “sources”. The flag has minor wear and soiling. It displays exceptionally well when folded or in static display cases.
