A Pre-First World War 1907 War Office official copy of “Manual of Military Law” measuring approximately 22 cm by 15.5 cm. Bound in red, the book features signs of considerable use including a tear at the spine and light water damage strictly to the cover. The book features the same name written on both on the first page and along the pages as pictured.
Named to a “Lt. G. E. Scroggie”, First World War Canadian personnel records at the Library Archives of Canada point to George Everett Scroggie. Scroggie enlisted in Niagara as a Lieutenant and acting Paymaster in 1915 seeing service overseas with many units including the Canadian Corps Cyclist Battalion and 1st Tunnelling Coy. By wars end, Scroggie was promoted to Captain and awarded a Military Medal. An excellent addition to any collectors library.
